Zoey and Tara

Zoey and her sister Tara, who lives in Delhi, spent five days together last week. After Zoey left Tara apparently kept running up to her (empty) room hoping to find her.

Zoe went nuts during her first weekend away from home, and in the hills near Lonavla. Between chasing hares and plunging headfirst into waterfalls, she found time to catch a butterfly and chew on a large mutton bone.

Dog Versus Dino

Dog won.

Other favourite pastimes:

1. Chewing on my slipper, and while I sleep, on my ear.

2. Chasing a ball in the park, and racing away from stray dogs on the beach.

3. Diving into the waste paper baskets in the study and living room. Scavenging bits of paper with a guilty expression.

4. Watching E! News.

5. Challenging Tipsy, the six-month-old labrador who lives in the building, to a brawl. Brave girl? Yes, except that Tipsy is on a leash and will be thrashed by her owner if she gives 'Zo the eye; and 'Zo is the building pet who knows several of us would gladly bloody our noses saving her from Tipsy and her kind.

What you wear when you take the dog for her twice daily walks. (Even if it happens to comprise a pair of work pants you rather like, and a white t-shirt which now looks like mud and smells like something that looks like mud).

First Day on the Beach

We took Zo across to the beach. To get there, she had to cross a road and be carried through a river. Her first thoughts on seeing the trash: "Eeewww."
Same here, kiddo.
But the entire beach isn't gnarly. There are some clean golden parts, and she loved playing in the water.
